Services - VAT Returns
The current VAT threshold is £82,000 which means that if your VAT taxable turnover is more than £82,000 in a 12 month period, then you must register for VAT. Failure to do so, can result in fines. We can keep an eye on this for you and warn you, if you approach the threshold. VAT returns usually need to be filed four times a year and automatic penalties are imposed for late returns.
VAT is continually being updated and is a complex topic. HMRC VAT enquiries can be costly and lengthy. VAT returns with mistakes should be avoided as VAT penalties are now applied by HMRC for mistakes as well as late returns. It is therefore essential and critical that your VAT paperwork is correct and filed on time.
We can assist by:
- Applying for your VAT registration, if required
- Providing the book-keeping services to assist with your VAT return
- Completing and filing your VAT return with HMRC
- Advising you of your VAT liability and amount payable or reclaimable
